"aka Big John"
It took a little longer to get "Big John's" pictures, he had 6+" of water in his basement
a week before the "Traveling Boxcar" arrived and he is still cleaning up.
Insurence will not cover most of the damage because it was
storm water not house water. Luckly no trains were lost but he did lose many childhood memories.
The pictures were taken on a section of a friends modular layout as his had many things piled high were ever he could.
Due to the high water in the LOG RR (Lake Ontario &
Genesee) rail yard the car was
routed though adjacent trackage.
Using a leased BNSF Dash 9 ...
...the car can be seen
passing the local Tom"s Caboose Motel.
After clearing the tower
and the Texaco Terminal the car was loaded with a mixed
shippment
from Kodak, Xerox and Baush & Lomb.
The car was then returned to the dryer side of the LOG
RR
yard and placed in a mixed freight headed on to New Jersey.
